The Nuclear Fuel Cycle

In Oskarshamn, large parts of the nuclear fuel cycle are represented: the OKG nuclear power plant, Clab, which is the interim storage of spent nuclear fuel, Äspö Hard Rock Laboratory for research on the disposal of spent nuclear fuel, the Canister Laboratory for the development of encapsulation technology and the Oskarshamn municipality’s efforts for local competence building and dialogue within the LKO project. All of these skills gathered in Oskarshamn attract a great international interest and result in many international visits from Poland, the Baltic States, China and the United States.
